GENERAL

Lavni is a mental health platform dedicated to bringing affordable mental health services to underserved communities.

Lavni is for everyone; specifically individuals from BIPOC/underserved communities, as research shows people of color are twice as likely not to seek mental health care. We want to break the stigma against seeking mental health services.

It’s up to you! Based on your presenting concern, and their areas of expertise, you can choose between the different qualified professionals listed on the site that “speak,” to your preference. Instead of suggesting someone for you, we suggest several clinicians that you can choose from.

To Be Communicated!

To improve mental health services in underserved communities. We apply culturally appropriate interventions, therefore; reducing the stigma while increasing engagement, education, and motivation towards positive mental health wellness. We provide affordable, confidential, and convenient mental health services, as our part in helping to reduce the barriers.

Currently available in North Carolina and South Carolina. We are currently working to make our service available in Georgia.

CLINICIAN

At Lavni, our clinicians are handpicked with you in mind, aligning with your needs, and your future mental health goals. We have licensed clinicians, coaches, and other health care professionals for a holistic approach to your wellness.

Lavni has behavioral health specialists from various disciplines, including; therapists, social workers, coaches, counselors, addiction specialists and more. They are licensed clinicians and certified coaches. Therapists at Lavni use a variety of tools and techniques based on their areas of expertise. Some of the many forms include: Psychodynamic therapy (to explore the connection between your unconscious mind and your actions). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapies, Humanistic Approaches (existential, gestalt and person-centered therapy), Integrative, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma Focused, Marriage and Family, Culturally Sensitive Therapy and many more.

Therapy can help improve symptoms of many mental and emotional health conditions. Therapy teaches you skills to help cope with the many life challenges that we may face. The National Alliance on Mental Health shows 1 out of every 5 Americans live with a mental health condition. The COVID-19 pandemic changed the number to 1 out of 3 at times. We will all face loss at some point in our lives. The way we manage our emotions during that time can change the trajectory of our lives. Biased because we know the value of placing mental health care at the forefront, we say therapy is right for all. Understand where you are in the stages of change, and find the right professional to walk with you on your journey!

It takes 4-6 weeks (on average) to build rapport with your therapist, as you continue to build trust in the counseling relationship. It is strongly recommended that you attend at least (4) consecutive weekly sessions in the beginning, so that you truly understand and feel more comfortable with the process. You can meet as many times as your plan allows or insurance company approves. Weekly and Bi-Weekly sessions are most common until you achieve your treatment goals.

The primary difference between a therapist and a coach is that therapists usually focus on the past or present while coaches tend to focus more on the present and future. Depending on the therapeutic method, intervention or approach the therapist applies, therapists can work through deep rooted traumas with the client that coaches cannot. Coaches often give directives for behavioral change, while therapists (Person-Centered) listen as the client works cognitively towards their healing.
